CUSTOMIZED SERVICES FOR EDUCATORS
Canada International College has developed customized training services for educators to assist school districts in other countries teach English as a Foreign Language. These services are for groups of Teachers and/or Principals. Included would be classroom instruction, homestay (room and board) with a local Canadian family, transportation from homestay to Winslow Centre.
Some possible learning expectations could be:
- Know the physical, social, emotional and cognitive characteristics of the student and their implications to teaching
- Explain and apply theories of student-centered learning
- Explain and apply theories of exceptionality in relation to the student
- Establish a student-centered learning environment using the concepts of time, space and materials
- Use effective school management strategies appropriate for the individual school environment
- Use effective communication strategies for collaborting with parents/guardians and community partners and incorporating them into your school
- Identify, describe and interpret current management issues in school government
- Identify and use the basic principles of human resources management
- Identify trends and innovations in curriculum planning and school management and administration and know how to embed these changes
- Develop, evaluate and modify western management strategies for your home country's educational context
- Develop, evaluate and modify a wide variety of assessment and evaluation strategies to enhance ongoing progressive development within the school
